It is said that spoon rings originated in the 17th century when servants of nobles, unable to afford wedding rings, stole their masters' cutlery to make them.
In the 60s, hippies rediscovered them and they were revived.
multiple are from old American silverware manufacturers that started in the 19th century, and this Oneida Community produced silverware within the community from an Amish-appreciate group in the 19th century, becoming a major American manufacturer.
